Child Protection and Vulnerable Groups

Child Protection and Vulnerable Groups

Kingdom of Fife Orienteers is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children in its care, and adhere to the SOA Child Protection Scheme, and to British Orienteering's O-Safe

For example, members of KFO who regularly coach children must be members of The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, which replaced the previous system of disclosures for people working with children and vulnerable groups (at risk-adults). More details are given on the SOA website.

KFO's Welfare Officer is Ian Doig. Ian is trained and qualified for Child Protection and Wellbeing in Sport. He can be contacted at ian.doig@btinternet.com for support, help or advice if you have any concerns.

Our umbrella organisation Scottish Orienteering is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults within the sport. Fiona Keir is the lead Child Protection & Welfare Officer for the SOA and can be contacted via Fiona@Scottish-orienteering.org if you have any questions or concerns.
