Lithuania v Scotland and VILNIUS 3-Day Event
Club member Phil Smithard was in Lithuania where he came an excellent 2nd overall.

Day 2; M55; Long Day; 5.3K; 55:04; 2nd
This day was also the International fixture Scotland Vets v Lithuania Vets - result for Phil - 1st.
Day 3; M55; Chasing Start (Even Longer); 5.6K; 54:41; 2nd.
3-Day Overall - 2nd. Barry Owen (INT) (the other M55) was 3rd
In the International, the Mens Vet Team took 4 of the 5 - 1st places. The other winners were Ben Hartman M35 and Martin Dean M 45, both of whom also took overall 1st place for the whole 3 Day event. Rob Hickling M50, the other winner, had a dreadful last day losing over 6 minutes to lose by a paltry 12 secs for the 3 Days; what a catastrophe.
The Ladies Vets were 2nd and overall the Combined Vets Team lost by only 20 minutes.
The Elite teams ran well, improving as the event went on. The team was young, but did pretty well with some studying for exams going on as well. However as at the first leg in The Trossachs, the strength in depth of the Lithuanian Team saw them come out on top by 1hr 40 mins.
