Child Protection and Vulnerable Groups
Child Protection and Vulnerable Groups
Kingdom of Fife Orienteers is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children in its care, and adhere to the SOA Child Protection Scheme, and to British Orienteering's O-Safe.
For example, members of KFO who regularly coach children must be members of The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, which replaced the previous system of disclosures for people working with children and vulnerable groups (at risk-adults). More details are given on the SOA website.
KFO's Welfare Officer
The club committee has appointed Sara Ordway as the Club Safeguarding Officer.
Sara should be the first port of call if you have any concerns about wellbeing or safeguarding for a child or vulnerable adult.
Sara can be contacted on saraordway@doctors.org.uk
SOA's Child Protection & Welfare Officer is Nikki Howard. Our umbrella organisation Scottish Orienteering is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults within the sport. Nikki Howard is the lead Child Protection & Welfare Officer for the SOA and can be contacted via nikki@scottish-orienteering.org if you have any questions or concerns.
